Marina Lobuneca is a passionate photographer whose choice of subject comes from her interest in ideas about beauty, nature, and art.
Creating still life images of flowers is for Marina an opportunity to present their frozen beauty. Also, she offered solace for the passage of time.
“I aim to capture calmness and serenity in each arrangement as well as the sense of space within the composition. I love that still life art can encourage us to pause and enjoy what is before us in the moment”, says Marina whose work has always been highly focused on aesthetic attributes.
She feels that the strength of still life is the fact that it’s purely descriptive. Marinas clearly enjoys working with the colours and the extra layers of meaning.
Flowers have always captivated her and as a child, she used to draw pictures of them, therefore photographing floral compositions was in some way revisiting those lifelong fascinations.
